What is Sound Healing? Sound healing is an ancient practice that uses vibrational frequencies to transition the brain from a state of high-activity (Beta) into deep relaxation (Alpha and Theta). Through the use of Native flutes, singing bowls, and the voice, we create a "sonic massage" for the nervous system.

Why Sound? In our modern, high-stress world, our bodies often hold onto tension and "noise." Sound healing helps:

  • Lower cortisol and reduce anxiety.
  • Improve sleep quality and mental clarity.
  • Release emotional blockages stored in the body.

How it Works: Everything in the universe is in a state of vibration. When we are out of balance, we feel "out of tune." Using the principle of entrainment, your body’s internal rhythms begin to synchronize with the stable, healing frequencies of the instruments.

What to Expect: Your Journey into Sound

Before You Arrive

  • Hydration is Key: Sound travels through water. Being well-hydrated enhances the vibrational effect on your cells.
  • Dress for Comfort: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Think of this as a "horizontal meditation"—you’ll want to be able to breathe deeply and stay warm.
  • Eat Lightly: Try to avoid a heavy meal at least an hour before your session so your body can focus on relaxation rather than digestion.

During the Experience

  • The Setting: For a 1:1 session or a group sound bath, you will typically lie down on a yoga mat with a bolster and blanket.
  • The Soundscape: I will begin with gentle grounding breaths, followed by the melodic tones of the Native flute and the resonant vibrations of singing bowls or other instruments.
  • The Sensation: You might feel a gentle tingling, a sense of floating, or simply a deep, heavy relaxation. It is perfectly normal (and encouraged!) to fall into a light sleep or a "dream-like" state.
  • Silence: We always conclude with a few minutes of "noble silence"—a crucial integration period where the healing frequencies settle into your system.

After the Session

  • Grounding: We will slowly transition back with gentle movement. I often provide herbal tea or water to help you "land" back in your body.
  • Integration: You may feel incredibly relaxed or slightly emotional as blockages clear. Give yourself a quiet evening if possible to allow the benefits to stick.
